Are you a Groupie?

What is it that fuels you? For me, it’s The Stroke Warrior. I love writing about my passions, helping others who are having a hard time adjusting to life after a stroke. Also, what interests’ others, and sharing my experiences with my readers hoping that it motivates them to keep moving forward.

I'm a Groupie, by that I mean I belong to a Stroke group that shares their experiences, successes, and hard times with other stroke survivors. It's a great way to meet others and hear their experiences and share yours. I think one of the best benefits of being in a group that you can relate to, is that you quickly find out you are not the only one feeling uncertain about your future or having a hard time adjusting to your new life after a stroke.

If you have a Stroke group near you, I encourage you to check it out. The group I belong to is SAO (Stroke Awareness Oregon), and you don't have to live in Oregon to join. We have our meetings on Zoom, and anyone can participate. To find out more you can visit So give it a try, become a Groupie!
