Eureka!

Meaning; used to show that you have been successful in something you were trying to do.

It's been almost 9 years since I had my stroke and along with other stroke warriors we know that it's important to never give up and always be on the look out for new treatments, technology, and ideas for recovery. Due to my right-side paralysis I'm constantly on the look out for new ways to relieve the stiffness in my limbs, especially in my right hand and fingers.

I have spent years in physical therapy, doing at-home exercises, and trying various products. Some of this helps and some do not, but I keep searching. I don't know what your situation is, but I want to encourage you to keep an open mind and keep searching for what you think will help you. I've been determined to find a method or product that will straighten out my curled fingers and one day...Eureka!

I was online a couple of weeks ago researching different hand massages and exercises when suddenly an ad popped up (funny how that works) for a lithium battery-operated hand massager. This is not an endorsement of a product, but if you are interested research them online as I did. Well, I'm excited to announce that after a few times using this product it's beginning to loosen up and straighten out my once curled fingers!! Not only have they straightened out, the swelling which is common in limbs that don't get enough blood flow and oxygen due to inactivity from the paralysis has decreased quite a bit!

You can see the third finger is also getting better. I'm still working on the small finger, but it's starting to move and straighten a little.
For years these fingers were curled and difficult to move. Now, I can move them slowly up and down.

Please don't give up the fight, whatever you think can help you in your battle even if it seems crazy, out of the normal, unconventional, keep searching for that Eureka moment!
